Of cabins and books

Sometimes, we intuit a new idea, still a bit fuzzy, and it’s the encounter with a book that allows us to bring it clarity. A case in point would be Marielle Macé’s nice little book “Our Cabins” which helped me characterise a cabin as not solely a material construction. It may also be a state of mind, a form of thought, a piecing together of ideas to inhabit and that inhabit us, a place to meet, fight, resist, an ensemble used to construct other cabins at the confines of this world should we wish to abandon it to those who have decided to not see, not fight, to accept with no nausea the worst decay in exchange for their security and comfort that they won't even have anymore.
