Gentlemen drivers

The very chic magazine “Gentlemen” asked me if I had any photographs of leading figures in the auto world for a special portfolio. So, I rummaged through my binders, past Fangio, Ickx and a couple more surprises, and discovered this photo of Paul Frère and my dad. The first was a great journalist, the only to have won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. And, Jean Graton created the comic books of Michel Vaillant. Two men who enchanted thousands more while remaining humble and discreet ; two go-getters, ever-so-slightly out of focus in this photo, as if they just never stopped, not even for 1/60th of a second. This issue of Gentlemen “Special Drivers” will be out on Wednesday in Belgian bookshops. If o’re around, race down to the nearest one, pedal to the metal!
